Fremont

Fremont in Seattle, WA

This neighborhood in King County has a hip, bohemian vibe that draws creative types like bees to honey. Situated along a canal, Fremont has a picturesque quality that few other enclaves in the city can match.

Its central location places it north of the downtown area, surrounded by North Seattle neighborhoods like Ballard and Wallingford. As such, a marker stating “Welcome to the Center of the Universe” greets all those who set foot in this charming neighborhood.

With a population of about 17,000, Fremont retains an unassuming, small-town atmosphere that endears it to residents and visitors alike. Community events take place year-round – these socials will make you feel like you’ve lived here your whole life.

And despite the number of coffee shops, restaurants, nightclubs, and hangout spots that can be found here, Fremont is largely residential. It’s a great place to come home to after a long day at work – the warm and welcoming environment will make you wonder why you didn’t pack your bags sooner.

Freemont Seattle Homes for Sale

Fremont was a hotspot for artists and students in the 1960s, thanks to plummeting rental fees after the discontinuation of the trolley and rail service. The neighborhood still retains its hippie vibe today, but it has become a prosperous and in-demand area of Seattle.

The housing market consists mainly of single-family homes and apartments. The majority of single family homes can be found in North Fremont, while numerous apartment buildings have mushroomed down by the neighborhood.

Luxury homes can have as many as 8 bedrooms, with upscale features like granite countertops, plush carpeting, and green technology. The most coveted homes offer gorgeous views of the mountains and the water. In fact, there’s a great view wherever you are in Fremont.

Apartment buildings often come with spacious basements and storage stalls, and are within walking distances of shops and restaurants.

Fremont is a walkable neighborhood, which adds to its appeal. It’s also bike-friendly, with several bike parking areas across town.
